Réseau Access Network is holding a hepatitis screening event in Memorial Park today (July 30).
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and includes screening, snacks and games. In case of rain, the event will be held at St. Andrew's Place, downtown.
A poster for the event said 55 million people across the world don't know they are living with hepatitis C. “Unless detected and treated, it can cause liver disease, cirrhosis and liver cancer,” said the poster.
The event is being held in honour of World Hepatitis Day, which was on July 28.
