Robert Mayer was recently appointed to the position of superintendent of education with the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario (CSCNO).

Mayer began his career in education in the Durham region in 1987, where he held the positions of secondary school vice-principal and elementary school principal at the Conseil scolaire de district catholique du Centre-Sud.

He also taught as a professor at Laurentian University’s French language education program (École des sciences de l’éducation) before becoming an educational officer at the Sudbury-North Bay regional office of the Ontario Ministry of Education Field Services Branch in 2003.

A graduate of Laurentian University, Mayer also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Ottawa and an Ontario academic supervisory officer’s certificate.

“Mr. Mayer’s acquired expertise is highly pertinent and we are thrilled to welcome him among us,” Marcel Montpellier, CSCNO president,  said in a press release.

“With more than 20 years of experience in the field of education, Robert will hold an important leadership position and help the CSCNO to continue to provide a French Catholic education that is recognized for its quality and vitality.”
