Gear up to nominate as the Sudbury Celebration of the Arts awards nomination period is now open.
The Sudbury Celebration of the Arts Awards recognize the contributions of professional artists to the Nickel City’s cultural landscape and vitality. This year’s award marks the sixth annual celebration and are presented thanks to a collaboration between the Sudbury Arts Council and the Regroupement des organismes culturels de Sudbury (ROCS).
There are three awards up for grabs: Outstanding Emerging Artist; Outstanding Mid-Career Artist, and; Exceptional Achievement by an Artist. Each winning artist will receive recognition from the community and their peers as well as a bursary to help them further their creative interests.
Family friends and members of the community alike are encouraged to nominate their favourite artists and nominations are open until Jan. 31, 2020 at 5 p.m. The recipients of each award will be announced at a gala at the Sudbury Theater Center on June fourth 2020.
