A Greater Sudbury Police constable has been found guilty of discreditable conduct for several Facebook posts he made in 2018 that were highly critical of the salaries of several managers in the police service.

On Feb. 5, hearing officer Greg Walton, a retired OPP superintendent, provided his decision to the GSPS.

“We respect the decision of the Tribunal and recognize that our members are held to a high standard of accountability both on and off duty with respect to that which impacts the integrity of the organization and a respectful workplace,” Chief Paul Pedersen is quoted as saying in a news release.

Rheaume will be sanctioned at a later date as part of the formal Police Service Act Disciplinary Hearing process.
