Heart & Stroke Big Bike raises $97K in Sudbury

'It’s amazing to see what can be accomplished,' says organize

Heart & Stroke Big Bike raised $97,000 in the City of Greater Sudbury last month.

Cori-Lynn Lemaitre, area co-ordinator for Heart & Stroke, said she's overwhelmed by citizens' generosity.

The funds raised are going towards heart disease and stroke research, prevention, advocacy and children’s health.

“Thank you to all the team captains, riders and volunteers for their support and volunteering their time on event day,” said Lemaitre.

“It’s amazing to see what can be accomplished when our communities join forces. So many families in our local communities have been touched my heart disease and/or stroke.”

The top three teams were Day Construction, which raised $10,121, RBC, which raised $8,660, and Dixon Electric, which raised $5,000.
