Just in time for the first day of summer on Tuesday, Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Greater Sudbury area.

A two day heat event is forecast for Tuesday through Wednesday.

This is the first heat event of the season for Sudbury and North Bay.

High temperatures on both Tuesday and Wednesday will get close to the 30 C mark.

Low temperatures on Tuesday night in the upper teens will provide little relief from the heat.

Cooler air is expected to arrive Wednesday night.

Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category.
