Heavy rainfall flooding city watersheds

The Nickel District Conservation Authority (NDCA) has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement - flood outlook for all parts of the Greater Sudbury watersheds. Environment Canada has reported 53 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours.

As a result of all the rain that has been received since August, ground conditions are super saturated, and levels and flows on all watercourses and water bodies are very high.
The Nickel District Conservation Authority (NDCA) has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement - flood outlook for all parts of the Greater Sudbury watersheds.

Environment Canada has reported 53 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours.

With all the rain that has fallen since August, ground conditions are super saturated, and levels and flows on all watercourses and water bodies are very high.

Environment Canada currently forecasts more precipitation for the remainder of this week and into the weekends.

The NDCA strongly encourages residents living in low lying, known hazard areas to monitor developing run-off conditions.

Resident are to be more aware of public safety, especially for children who may attracted to the edge of creeks and rivers.

Any residents in the City of Greater Sudbury who may experience problems due to overland run-off or localized flooding are to call the City at 3-1-1, 24 hours a day.

This statement will remain in effect until further notice and will be updated the the NDCA as watershed conditions warrant.
