Therrien said the event has appealed to children, in particular, who have “gone gaga” over the butterflies the past couple years.

“It's great for kids,” he said. “They love it.”

Butterflies can be purchased online through NorthernLife.ca, at the hospice, located at 1028 South Bay Rd., or through KIA Motors on the Kingsway.

The deadline to purchase butterflies is July 4.
