The Sudbury Regional Hospital (SRH) board of directors is searching for two new directors.

The vacancies on the board are due to the term expiration of two long-standing members at the end of June. Stepping down are current chair Gisele Chretien and director Kevin Conley.

“Hospitals are among the most important of public institutions, touching everyone in a community, and so we all have a stake in the manner in which they are governed,” said Chrétien in the news release. “As a member of the hospital’s board of directors, a person truly does have an opportunity to make a difference, discussing issues and making important decisions that affect people from across northeastern Ontario.”

There are a total of 12 elected members on the hospital board. Members must reflect the geographic, cultural, ethnic and linguistic characteristics of northeastern Ontario, stated the news release. Guidelines for the selection of directors specify the range of professional skill and expertise and personal attributes required for the voluntary position.

Deadline for submissions is April 25.
