Nearly halfway through City Council’s term, Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury and reThink Green are co-hosting a public panel discussion and Town Hall focused on environmental issues.

All are invited to Good Green Town Hall Revisited, on May 12 at 7 p.m. at Tandoori Tastes (96 Larch) to enjoy refreshments, hear from local panelists, and share questions and priorities.

Where is Greater Sudbury when it comes to green issues?  What progress has been made?  What remains to be done?  How can we get there?  What does Council’s new strategic plan have to say?

Local panelists will start the conversation.  Matt Alexander, a local advocate on sustainable transportation and pedestrian safety, will speak to transportation.

Arik Theijsmeijer, a member of the Greater Sudbury Food Policy Council, will speak to local food and agriculture.

Linda Heron, Chair of Ontario Rivers Alliance and Vermilion River Stewardship, will speak to natural environment and water.

Janet Gasparini, past Executive Director of the Social Planning Council and former City Councillor, will speak to engagement and equity.

Attendees will then be invited to share their questions and reflections for a Town Hall discussion.

In October 2014, more than 170 people attended the Good Green Town Hall, an opportunity to question municipal election candidates on environmental issues.

Now, Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury and reThink Green are inviting people to check on the progress of those issues at the Good Green Town Hall Revisited.

“This is a good time to look at where we’re at and what still needs to be done,” said Naomi Grant from Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury.
