International Women's Day

International Women's Day (IWD) has a history dating back to the early 1900's, and traces its beginnings in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. It began and continues as a global day that celebrates, honours and illuminates the achievements of women. In Canada, the theme for IWD 2018 is #MyFeminism.

Online, the Status of Women in Canada branch of Canadian government is inviting people to use the #MyFeminism hashtag in response to the question: What does feminism mean to you?

Offline, Greater Sudbury will play host to a veritable smorgasbord of events from breakfast right up until dinner, at various venues.

From indie films, to DIY spa workshops, to keynote addresses, and learning how to break the glass ceiling by learning how to climb it at ARC Climbing, here's what is available in Nickel City.
