The City of Greater Sudbury wants to hear your ideas for the Tom Davies Square Courtyard redesign, a project of the Downtown Sudbury Master Plan.

Residents are invited to submit their ideas online at www.greatersudbury.ca/courtyard until Friday, Jan. 29, or attend an open community engagement session on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Tom Davies Square Foyer.

The community engagement session will begin with presentations by staff and will be followed by a discussion. The remainder of the session will be open for drop-ins and residents are welcome to attend to learn more, submit ideas and ask questions.

Tom Davies Square is located in downtown Sudbury and is home to Council Chamber and various municipal services and offices. It is the city’s most visible civic space, and as such, it is important that its grounds reflect the vision of the community.

The Downtown Sudbury Master Plan Tom Davies Square Redesign project envisions the courtyard as an attractive and multi-functional public space, with an environmentally-friendly design.

This will open opportunities to support more programming and make active use of adjacent indoor spaces, while creating a unique public space.

The Tom Davies Square Courtyard is scheduled for repairs in spring 2016, and this presents the perfect opportunity to complete the landscape redesign project.

The Courtyard is located directly above an underground parking garage and therefore there are weight restrictions in place for the space.

For more information, visit www.greatersudbury.ca/courtyard or attend the community engagement session.
