The Hôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital held its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner as part of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, honouring the contributions of over six hundred hospital volunteers.

Receiving special mention and an award in honour of her long standing service was one of the hospital’s long-serving volunteers. Hazel Lampinen has volunteered at the Memorial site gift shop for 50 years, contributing thousands of hours since 1957. She continues to work at the Gift Shop.

“We appreciate the contributions of all our volunteers and hope they will continue in their commitment and dedication to the hospital. The people honoured tonight serve as role models for us all as volunteers, and human beings,” says Yvonne Cayer, HRSRH Volunteer Services Coordinator.
