Health Sciences North now owns a ENT Navigation System for endoscopic sinus surgery, thanks to the Health Sciences North Foundation.

“It is with great honour that we extend our heartfelt thanks to the foundation for their generosity in providing us with the latest ENT Stealth Navigation System,” said Dr. Filippone, ENT Surgeon at HSN.

“Helen Keller once wrote that, ‘Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much’. We look forward to working together in an effort to provide the best, most evolved medical care possible to our community.”

The ENT Navigation System is an innovative navigation system that greatly improves patient safety during endoscopic sinus surgery. Real-time image guided surgery provides the maximum amount of information about each patient’s unique anatomy for safe surgery.

The images help to avoid injury to the brain, eyes and carotid artery, greatly enhancing patient safety.

“Health Sciences North Foundation is pleased to announce that now 24 hospitals in Ontario have the ENT Navigation System – the 24th being Health Sciences North,” said Alex Patterson, Chair of HSN Foundation.

“Having this technology is tremendously important for our patient’s safety during endoscopic sinus surgery. This innovative system helps to avoid injury to the brain, eyes, and the carotid artery. A big thank you to our donors who have given us the means of purchasing this excellent tool.”
