Parents/guardians are invited to learn about the importance of Internet safety during a special presentation at Sudbury Secondary School’s Sheridan Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.

Sgt. Marc Guerin of the Greater Sudbury Police Service will discuss how parents/guardians can support children and youth to become digitally responsible citizens, while engaging in the online environment.

“The Internet is a 21st Century playground for youth,” said Guerin. “The guidelines that applied to us, the parent generation, while we played in the schoolyard, are similar to those our kids need to follow while surfing the Internet.

“We invite all parents/guardians to enjoy this free presentation,” said Rainbow District School Board director of education Norm Blaseg. “This topic will also be of interest to administrators, teachers and support staff. Everyone is welcome.”

Sudbury Secondary School is located at 154 College St. in Sudbury.
