The City of Greater Sudbury, in partnership with the Sudbury Road Safety Committee, is re-launching the Watch for Us! Community Sign Program to educate residents of increased dangers caused by driving too fast in residential neighbourhoods.
The lawn signs are available to residents, free of charge, at all Citizen Service Centres and libraries to warn motorists to watch for vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians, cyclists, children, seniors and persons with disabilities or those who use mobility devices.
A limited number of signs are available on a first-come first-served basis and residents will also receive information about the sign and how to display it.
The Watch for Us! Community Sign program is an initiative of the Sudbury Road Safety Committee, a partnership between the City of Greater Sudbury, the Greater Sudbury Police Service, Public Health Sudbury and Districts, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ministry of Transportation, to raise driver awareness of speeding in residential neighbourhoods.
