Canadian country music artist Crystal Shawanda, who's originally from Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island, said she received a touching gift from “three lady fans” in Killarney recently.
Shawanda, who's expecting a child, said the women sent “the sweetest little handmade blanket, booties, and hat” to her mom's house.
“Thank you to you lovely Angels!” she said on her Facebook fan page.
“I'm a workaholic, and because I pretty much live on the road, I don't have much of a social life! It's hard to build lasting relationships/friendships, when my work forces me to seem selfish with my time.
“Then the handful of true blue friends I do have, live far away, and we are all scattered. Although we do pick up where we left off when we see each other, our time apart is still tough!
“So a lot of times my fans are my social life, and I truly appreciate the love and friendship they give me!
“Especially to all my fans who have all been like excited aunts, and uncles, through this whole pregnancy, giving gifts, helpful advice, prayers, and even just checking on me and bebe! It all means so much to me, Miigwetch, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
