The Greater Sudbury Watershed Alliance is sponsoring a free event on April 20 to educate the public on how to keep lakes clean.
 
 
The event will be held inside the Vale cavern at Science North between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and will cover an array of topics.

Protect Your Waters
Learn the common signs of unhealthy shorelines and get useful tips and resources to keep your shoreline healthy.
 
Stop aquatic invasive species
Natural ecosystems can be ruined by Spiny Waterfleas and other new aquatic invasive species. Learn a few simple steps to preseve our lakes and fisheries.
 
Watershed 101
Managing Our Watersheds Today - For Tomorrow. With our changing climate, we must be ready for the inevitable impacts on our water systems and land based resources.
 
Private septic & water systems
Find out how a septic system works and why it’s importantto keep your septic system in good working order to reduce the risk of drinking water contamination.
 
There will also be an information session on how to inspect, clean and drain your boat, trailers and fishing gear.
