Businesses and residents in Sudbury and the Coniston area are being advised of limited water availability and possibly temporary lower water service pressure due to ongoing work at the Wanapitei Water Treatment Plant.

Work will take place Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 8:30 a.m. and will continue for approximately four hours.

When the water service is restored, consumers may notice lower water pressure or discoloured water.

To clear discoloured water, residents are asked to run the cold water tap that is closest to their water meter for approximately 15 minutes to clear sediments from house hold plumbing.

A prolonged period of discolored water and / or low water pressure should be reported to the City of Greater Sudbury by dialing 3-1-1.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to limit water consumption to essential needs only. It is requested that residents not use water for lawn watering, washing vehicles, or washing driveways.
