At its meeting tonight Greater Sudbury city council will be deciding on a couple of motions that have been in the news the past few days.

Council will be voting on a motion from Ward 2 Coun. Michael Vagnini and Ward 3 Coun. Gerry Montpellier to hold their interviews with investigators conducting a workplace harassment investigation in public.

From comments made by the two councillors during the aborted Fire Optimization Plan information sessions held last winter, a workplace harassment claims was levelled against Vagnini and Montpellier by the Sudbury Professional Fire Fighters Association.

Saying they're being unfairly targeted by the city (which is not investigating the complaint, but has hired a third-party investigator to do that), the councillors want their interviews with the investigator held in public, and they're introducing a motion to that effect tonight.

Also on the agenda, councillors will be hearing a report from city staff on why a proposal by Vista Hospitality to host a Greater Sudbury's downtown art gallery and public library was rejected. Vista said it wasn't given the full scope of the project when invited to submit a proposal
