LU celebrates Women's Day

To celebrate International Women's Day, Laurentian University's presidential advisory committee on the Status of Women honoured the achievements of three Greater Sudbury women during its annual awards ceremony Wednesday, March 8.

To celebrate International Women's Day, Laurentian University's presidential advisory committee on the Status of Women honoured the achievements of three Greater Sudbury women during its annual awards ceremony Wednesday, March 8.

Laura Young, Joy Rudd and Diane Massicotte were honoured for their work in promoting women either in sports, child-care and women's issues, in partnership with the university, and the community of Greater Sudbury.

Young, a sports writer, was recognized for her efforts in promoting women journalists. Rudd, the administrative supervisor at the Laurentian Child and Family Centre, was honoured for her dedication. Massicotte, is the assistant to the president, and board member of the Iris Addiction Recovery for Women.
