LU president to speak to Canadian authors

Judith Woodsworth, the new president of Laurentian University, will be the keynote speaker at the Canadian Authors Association conference July 5.

Woodsworth, who is coming to Sudbury from a position as vice-president academic at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, will share her literary experiences at the conference.

Woodsworth has a varied background in publishing and translation and served on the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission as well as on the board for the Pier 21 Society.

The conference called Northern Ink, is sponsored by White Mountain Publishing of New Liskeard and the Sudbury WritersÂ? Guild. It will be held at the Ramada Inn on July 3 to 7.
