Shelley Martel gave her monthly pay increase for May to the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation, a registered non-profit organization that provides opportunities for disadvantaged children to attend summer camps.
Martel had made a personal commitment to donate her MPP pay raise every month to local charities that focus their efforts on children and youth.
“The $1500 I will be donating today will help support the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation Send-A-Kid-To-Camp program. This important initiative allows children aged 6 to 14 years to attend summer camp by covering all camp fees, assisting with transportation to and from camp and providing basic necessities and sleeping bags,” said Martel.
