LU recruitment poster wins award
Laurentian University’s public affairs office will be presented a prestigious award by the Canadian Council for Advancement of Education during its annual conference to be held in Saskatoon next month. Laurentian will be awarded a gold award in the best poster category for its Imagine poster.
This student recruitment poster, designed by graphic artist Max Gray with Laurentian’s public affairs office and photographed by Rachelle Bergeron, was distributed to Ontario secondary schools.
The Imagine poster featured a levitating hockey goalie beside the watchful eye of a sports psychologist, and was designed to promote the sports psychology program.

Students organize medical forum
Tajana Centis, an OAC student at St. Benedict’s Secondary School, organized a medical forum on Friday, May 17 at her school. She was assisted by Stepahnie Horsfall, a Grade 9 student. Both girls plan on careers in health care. Qualified medical professionals will address students and encourage them to pursue a career in health care

Chamber hosts CN senior VP
Keith Heller, CN’s senior vice-president for Eastern Canada, will speak about his company’s commitment to health care, at a luncheon hosted by the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce and the Heart and Soul Campaign on Friday, May 17, at Bryston’s in Copper Cliff.

Pandora performs Piaf
Pandora Topp, Ron Kelly; Brian Quebec, Sean Perras, Karen Aniol and Iona Reed-Pukara, will perform the music of Edith Piaf at Fraser Auditorium at Laurentian University, Thursday, May 23 at 8 pm. Tickets are $25 for adults and $22 for students and seniors. They are available at the Sudbury Theatre Centre box office, 674-8381.
