Doug Ford announced he would cut nearly $5 billion from funds that primarily support transit, highways, maintenance and transportation infrastructure.

In the GTA alone, congestion is costing the economy $6 billion a year, and people are crammed into packed buses and subways like sardines. Commuters who don’t have transit options are stuck in gridlock for hours. Wynne was bad for commuters. Ford would be worse.

As a Toronto City Councilor, Doug Ford oversaw “the biggest rollback of TTC service since amalgamation” causing more crowding and less frequent transit service.

The PCs lack a financial plan, a platform costing, and any semblance of explanation of how they think they can pay for this without massive cuts in funding for transit, highways and transportation infrastructure.
