Sudbury Cycles is holding its first bike exchange of the year on June 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Market, at the site of the CP/VIA Rail Station on Elgin Street.

Children can trade in their outgrown bike for a gently used one of the correct size. Families who do not have bicycles to trade in may receive a bike by making a token donation to help support the project.

Bicycles are provided on a first come, first serve basis, and sizes and quantities may vary.

This volunteer-run event is fueled in large part by community donations, in order to provide bikes to kids who may not have access to them otherwise.  This year marks the fifth year Sudbury Cycles has been offering this program.

Sudbury Cycles is also seeking donations of gently used children’s bikes to be given to families at future bike exchanges during the summer. To donate a bike and help bring a smile to a child’s face, bring your gently used bikes to the Market on June 11.
