Eastlink customers who may have received a higher than usual bill for their cable television, Internet and phone services this month don't have anything to worry about, according to a spokesperson for the company.

Paula Sibley-Fox said that some customers received bills with double the amount that they usually owe.
This is because Eastlink, which purchased Persona in 2007, is in the process of changing its billing system.

Customers who paid their bill last month may not have gotten it in before the new invoices were sent out, thus causing the confusion, she said. They are being told to just pay what they normally would owe.

The company is moving to a payment in advance system, where customers pay for the services they will receive in the next month.

Some customers will see the dates their bills are due change, but other than that, everything should stay the same, said Sibley-Fox. The bills should be back to normal by next month, she said.
