Maison Vale Inco Hospice is inviting the public to attend its annual general meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the parish hall at St. Jean de Brebeuf Church located at 26 Kathleen St. in Sudbury. RSVP by Nov. 19 at 674-9252.

Four things will happen at the meeting, said executive director Leo Therrien.

First, members will approve changes to the bylaws. One of the bylaws concerns a change in the hospice's mandate. The former hospice had two beds for HIV patients and two for those who needed palliative care. The new hospice is a generic one with 10 beds.

Second, the hospice will present financial statements to the members. Third, the members will elect a new board of directors.

After the meeting, the board will elect an executive. Finally, the hospice will unveil photographs of the construction of the new facility.

Anyone can buy a membership, the cost of which will be determined at the meeting. Members of the public can run for office but they must have presented their name by Nov. 5, Therrien said.
