Science North announced the appointment of Julie Moskalyk as its new science director on March 7.
Moskalyk will start her new role on April 1. The current science director, Jennifer Pink, announced her retirement last fall.
Moskalyk started her career at Science North as a volunteer in 1985 working on the assembly of the fin whale skeleton. She has held progressive roles throughout Science North and most recently was the senior manager of Dynamic Earth.
She also led the development of the F. Jean McLeod Butterfly Gallery, Science North’s international sales and consulting work for seven years and worked as a part of the education and outreach team traveling throughout Northern Ontario.
“It is an honour to step into this new Bluecoat role,” said Moskalyk.
The science director leads the visitor experiences at Science North and Dynamic Earth and is a member of the senior leadership team guiding the science centre.
