Fire of note:

North Bay 32, located 12.5 km west of Latchford in Kittson Township (more specifically: east of East Lady Evelyn Lake), has been resized to 40 hectares this evening.  Waterbombers and 3 ground crews have been on the scene since the fire was discovered during the early evening Aug. 1 at around 6:30 p.m.

Smoke has been reported in several surrounding areas as well as by cottagers, and will continue to be noticed as fire crews continue suppressing the fire by air and by ground.

Additional ground crews will be on scene tomorrow and more resources have also been allocated to suppress the fire by air.  AFFES would like to remind the public who may be travelling in the area to proceed with caution and to drive slowly, as vehicles and crews are on scene and visibility may be reduced due to smoke.

The forest fire hazard is high to extreme in most of the Northeast region, with the exception of the far North.
