No new forest fires reported in Northeast: MNRF

Fire hazard low to moderate across the region

No new fires have been discovered in the Northeast region as of May 20, said a news release from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

There are four active fires across the Northeast, however.

Chapleau 3 was discovered on May 18 and is under control at two hectares. It’s located east of Foleyet. 

Parry Sound 8 was discovered on May 18 and is under control at 1.9 hectares. It’s located west of Little Blackstone Lake. 

Sudbury 12 was discovered on May 18 and is under control at 2.7 hectares. It’s located north of Capreol. 

Wawa 4 was discovered on May 18 and is under control at 7.6 hectares. It’s located northeast of Pukaskwa National Park. 

The forest fire hazard is generally low to moderate across the region with the exception of an area along Hudson’s Bay, which is showing a high hazard.
