The Palladino Auto Group Golf Classic for NEO Kids, held July 25 at Idylwylde Golf and Country Club, raised $173,295 for children’s health care needs in Northeastern Ontario.

Close to 150 golfers took part in the event.

With a goal of matching the funds raised from last year’s tournament, which was $140,000, the Palladino Auto Group Golf Classic more than surpassed that goal by more than $30,000, and officially became a record-breaking year for the golf classic, said a press release.

“It has been an honour to continue to support such an incredible organization like NEO Kids through the Palladino Auto Group Golf Classic, and we look forward to continuing to do so for years to come,” said Vince Palladino, president, Palladino Auto Group, in the press release.

“Pediatric care in our community should be our top priority. This golf tournament is about members of our community coming together to support NEO Kids and ultimately pediatric care in Northeastern Ontario.”

The tournament raises funds for pediatric services at Health Sciences North as well as awareness about the health care needs of the children in our community and the growing need for specialized services in Northeastern Ontario.
