Photos: Family Day fun at Centennial Arena in Hanmer

Hundreds of families gather for a sunny day of sliding, roasting marshmallows and games

Hundreds of Sudbury families headed out to Centennial Arena in Hanmer on Feb. 20 for a Family Day celebration.

Organized by the Valley East CAN, the event featured horse-drawn sleigh rides, skating, face painting, inflatable climbing wall, bonfire with marshmallows, typhoon balloon, kids’ crafts, vendors and a sliding hill.

Outside the arena, the sliding hill was hopping while dozens of people kept the climbing wall busy for hours. Inside the arena, vendors hocked a variety of wares while families coloured pictures, played games, got their faces painted and snacked on snowcones and cotton candy.
