Photos: ‘Songs of the Season’ show helps usher in Christmas

The Young Sudbury Singers and The No Strings Attached Community Band performed a Christmas-themed musical afternoon at Lockerby Composite School on Sunday

It was a musical afternoon at Lockerby Composite School on Sunday, when the Young Sudbury Singers and the No Strings Attached Community Band performed a Christmas show.

The family-friendly show saw performances by these groups covering such songs as those included in the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas cartoon, and other Christmas staples.

The Young Sudbury Singers has been billed as “Sudbury’s premiere choir for children and youths in Grades 2 to 12.”

The group was established in 2007 by David Buley, and has been divided into the Junior Choir, directed by Colette Nadeau, and the Senior Choir, directed by Heather Charsley.

The group’s first rehearsal of the new year will be on Jan. 11, with more information available by contacting general manager Ralph McIntosh at 705-662-0115 or by email at [email protected]

The No Strings Attached Community Band was founded by Sandra McMillian in 2001, and accepts players year-round. Those who have played a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument are encouraged to visit nostringsattachedband.org for more information.
