Photos: Sudburians turn out in support of Salvation Army

Annual Hope in the City luncheon raises awareness about the Sally Ann’s mission

On Nov. 2, the Salvation Army hosted its annual Hope in the City Luncheon at the Steelworkers Hall on Brady Street.

The event not only helped raise funds for the Christian charitable organization (still affectionately referred to as “the Sally Ann” in some circles), but also raised awareness about the work the Salvation Army does and the people it helps.

The event featured guest speaker and chef, Jay Barnard, a.k.a. Chef Recovery. Now a renowned culinary artist who has fed luminaries like Leonardo Dicaprio, Wayne Gretzky and William Shatner, Barnard shares his story of recovering from addiction, turning his life around and achieving his dreams.
