Hydro One has advised that all Sudbury customers impacted by this morning's power outage have had their electricity restored. The equipment failure that caused the outage is being blamed on wildlife.

Updated Aug. 23 at 7:55 a.m.

Hydro One now advises that it estimates repairs will be completed and power restored at noon today.

Nearly 2,500 Hydro One customers in the Walden area lost power overnight due to an equipment failure.

The utility estimated power would be restored as of 7:30 a.m. However, the outage map on Hydro One's website shows the outage is ongoing.

Power was lost just before 10 p.m. last night.***

Affected areas include the townships of Graham, Waters, Lorne, Truman, Nairn and Hyman, Drury, Whitefish Lake 6FN, Trill, Denison, Louise, Dieppe, Fairbank and Foster.

***An earlier version of this story said the outage started just before midnight. That is incorrect. It started just before 10 p.m.
