Primed up in pink: CIBC Paint Canada Pink Week

Shades of pink will be spotted city-wide next week in Sudbury as the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s CIBC Run for the Cure celebrates Paint Canada Pink Week.

Paint Canada Pink Week marks 50 days to Run day. It represents awareness and visibility and is an opportunity for participants to kick off their fundraising activities.

The Sudbury Run committee has organized activities for each day of the week to raise awareness and help the community to think pink.

Here is your Paint Canada Pink Week Schedule:

  • All Week: CIBC Run for the Cure is encouraging Sudbury to have pop-up pink lemonade sales and use #PCPWSuds to share photos. Regency Bakery goes PINK for the week! Portions of Pink sales will be donated to the CIBC Run for the Cure. 
  • August 17: Iron Sirens Ride for a Cure (6 p.m.) 
  • August 18: Dr. Clean thinks Pink! (Portion of all detailing sales will be donated to the CIBC Run for the Cure)
  • August 19: Pink giveaways. Visit us in the New Sudbury Shopping Centre’s Centre Court to pick up your freebies and get information on registration and volunteering
  • August 20: Hug a survivor day
  • August 21: Mayor Proclamation with Deputy Mayor - 1 p.m. Tom Davies Square


The Sudbury organizing committee is pleased to announce that the local CIBC Run for the Cure will once again feature “Shake your pink with Zumba Vibe” as Zumba dancing is incorporated into the Run.

This year marks the 18th CIBC Run for the Cure in Sudbury. Last year, more than 1,500 participants raised over $336,000. Since 1998, the Sudbury area has raised more than $2.2 million. Local organizers hope that the community can continue its impressive fundraising trend.
