The Ontario government is supporting tourism in Greater Sudbury with a $20,000 grant to help attract tourists to the region and to subsidize a new Visitor Information Centre downtown.
?Our government is pleased to provide Greater Sudbury with the assistance needed to better develop our tourism potential," said Sudbury MPP Bartolucci in a press release.
"This will help us draw more visitors to our region so they experience for themselves all the great things our area has to offer which in turn will encourage them to spend more and stay longer,? he said.
"Tourism is one of five identified engines of economic growth for Greater Sudbury," added Mayor Dave Courtemanche. "Our recently completed Premier-Ranked Tourism Destination report recommended improvements to how visitor information is distributed. The $20,000 from the Ministry of Tourism will help us greatly in opening a new Visitor Information Centre in the downtown core."
