Public Health Sudbury and Districts no longer reporting COVID stats on the weekends

Information on case counts, testing, and vaccinations will be reported Monday to Friday
PHSD July 24

Public Health Sudbury and Districts has changed one of its key procedures that had been in place for most of the pandemic. PHSD was providing updated COVID-19 case counts on a daily basis. That is no longer in effect.

On Friday, in a one-paragraph note posted in the health unit's weekly update, there was information revealing the change.

"Starting Friday, July 23, Public Health will only report COVID-19 case data Monday through Friday (excluding statutory holidays). We will also continue to post a detailed epidemiology summary on Monday that includes information about cases over time, case characteristics, probable exposures, case outcomes, testing, and outbreaks in facilities," said the notice.

No explanation was provided, but it might have something to do with the fact that throughout most of July, there had been no new cases reported on a daily basis.

This also means that daily counts on active case numbers,  testing and COVID-19 vaccinations will also have to wait for Monday.
