Information nights have been scheduled for full-day everyday junior and senior kindergarten registrations for Rainbow Schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin.
All parents/guardians and children are invited to attend.
Information nights will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24 for the English program and Jan. 26 for the French Immersion program.
Schools offering English and French Immersion will host aninformation night on Jan. 26. Visit rainbowschools.ca for a list of schools and programs offered or phone your area Rainbow School.
For enrolment in junior kindergarten, children must be four years old by Dec. 31, 2012.
For enrolment in senior kindergarten, children must be five years old by Dec. 31, 2012.
When registering a child, please bring his/her identification documents including birth certificate, birth registry/baptismal certificate, Ontario Health Card and immunization record.
Parents/guardians can enrol their children in the English program or the French Immersion program.
The English program is exclusively in English and includes a Core French component. Students learn basic French through songs, games, drama and interactive activities for a specified period of time daily, beginning in Grade 4.
French Immersion immerses children in the French language, including cultural experiences. The program provides a balance of English and French instruction. French is gradually increased throughout the Kindergarten program. This program is designed for English-speaking parents/guardians so they may support their children to become bilingual.
