Random Acts of Kindness: Watch as we surprise a teen hero who very likely saved his friend’s life

He acted fast and stayed calm when his friend was severely injured, so we are gifting him a few of his favourite things

Welcome to the tenth day of Sudbury.com’s Random Acts of Kindness, supported by @homeEnergy.

Jarrett Roy is a 14-year-old boy who, our nominator Felicia Cress called “her hero.”

Jarrett was biking with his friend Gabriel Winney in the Donovan when a crash left Gabriel severely injured and unconscious.

Gabriel sustained life-threatening injuries, including broken bones in his face and vertebrae, a punctured lung and a small brain bleed. Jarrett acted quickly and immediately called emergency medical services (EMS) and stayed with Gabriel until the emergency crew arrived, helping stabilize his friend and keep him safe until paramedics arrived.

Because of Jarrett's fast action, Gabriel's mother and our nominator, Felicia, believes Jarrett saved her son’s life.

So today, thanks to Felicia’s nomination, we are surprising a teen hero with a random act of kindness.

Each weekday morning leading up to Christmas, Sudbury.com will recognize a deserving person, family or organization with a random act of kindness.

Visit Sudbury.com tomorrow morning again for another act of kindness.
