Environment Canada has issued another heat for Greater Sudbury and the region, the fifth day in a row a warning has been issued.

Again, daytime temperatures are expected to be at or exceed 30 C, while the overnight low won't offer much respite as the mercury is expected to stay in the upper teens or low 20s.

The warning covers Greater Sudbury and area, as well as Elliot Lake and area.

"Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high-risk category," Environment Canada warned. "The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors."

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

Be sure to drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place. Be mindful not to leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle in these conditions.
