From Nov. 1 to 5, the Regional Cancer Program of the Sudbury Regional Hospital will hold 20th anniversary celebrations. It was on Nov. 5, 1990 that the Regional Cancer Program began operating as a stand alone cancer treatment centre.

To mark the occasion, a public open house is being held Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. in the Main Lobby of the Regional Cancer Program.

A career night is also being held that night between 6 and 8 p.m. for secondary and post-secondary students interested in a career in health care or health sciences. Staff at the Regional Cancer Program will be on hand to provide tours of the centre and describe the numerous career options in cancer treatment and research. As well, representatives from Laurentian University, Cambrian College, College Boréal, and the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences in Toronto will be on hand to describe their programs and answer questions about admission.

For more information about the 20th anniversary celebrations, contact Susan Boyko, at 705-522-6237 ext. 2037, or [email protected].
