Réseau ACCESS Network hosting virtual pride week

Events include topics like what your gym teacher didn’t tell you and a virtual talent show, hosted by drag queen Kimmy Couture.

Réseau ACCESS Network is announcing their Virtual Pride Week programming, taking place from July 12 to July 16. 

In addition to the virtual line-up of events, Réseau ACCESS Network is also offering Pride-themed safer sex kits, availble for pickup at the network’s Medina Lane entrance from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on July 12, (while supplies last).

The virtual events will include learning opportunities, a chance to meet the team at the Réseau ACCESS Network and entertainment with a virtual talent show.  

On Tuesday July 13, visit the network’s social media to learn more about the 2S-LGBTQ+ Programs at Réseau ACCESS Network and how they support members of the community.

The Wednesday webinar called “Sex: What Your Gym Teacher Didn’t Tell You,” with Eva Bloom, will focus on sex-positive, queer and trans-inclusive conversation about sexual health, anatomy, and communication. It will be on July 14, beginning at 7:00 p.m. and you can find the link here.

An event for youth and older adults alike called the Intergenerational Chat will allow attendees to engage in meaningful conversations about lived experiences as 2S-LGBTQ+ people.

This event will be hosted by Brandon McIsaac, Réseau ACCESS Network’s Seniors Program Coordinator, on Thursday July 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. To register, contact:  [email protected] or 705-688-0500 x222.

Then on Friday, Réseau ACCESS Network offers the Community Pride Breakfast on July 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Join from the comfort of your home in a conversation with Rahim Thawer MSW, RSW and Kathleen J of Safer Spaces as they discuss how the pandemic has affected 2S-LGBTQ+ communities and the importance of creating inclusive workplaces for 2S-LGBTQ+ members of community.

Saturday is a night of fun with a Virtual Talent Show highlighting the many talents of Sudbury’s community. The event will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and hosted by Canadian Drag Queen and community activist, Kimmy couture, who will also be performing. To register, click here
