The Retired Teachers of Ontario District 4 recently donated $1,000 to the Keeping Seniors Warm program.

“We are so grateful for their generosity,” said Bev Brisco, a volunteer with the program. “This will help us clothe more seniors in the future.”

The program provided about $150 to 100 seniors on Nov. 4 to purchase warm winter clothing at Giant Tiger (read our full story here).

Seniors are referred by various agencies in Greater Sudbury. Seniors aren’t eligible two years in a row, but they can register every two years, and it’s not just clothing they can purchase. It could be sheets, or any item that will help keep them warm.
