Paris Street

Construction on Paris Street continues, with the southbound curb lane closed from Elm to Brady Streets for curb and sidewalk removal and replacement.

The northbound curblane will also be closed from Elm to Leslie Streets for curb replacement, but the northbound curb and sidewalk replacement between Van Horne and Elm Streets is now complete.

The north and southbound lanes beside the median between Brady and Elm Streets will be closed for curb replacements, as will the eastbound left-turn lane on Brady Street from Shaughnessy to Paris Streets.

Median lanes between Ste. Anne Road to Leslie Street on Notre Dame Avenue will remain closed for watermain work.

Lasalle Boulevard

The city is asking motorists to reduce their speed and use caution when bypassing construction zones by using residential routes.

The eastbound lane of Lasalle Boulevard will be closed west of Somers Street to Rideau Street for curb and sidewalk removal and replacement.

Grinding operations are ongoing in westbound lanes west of Barrydowne Road to Northway Avenue. The city warns this may change, and may also include the application of asphalt between Montrose and Drummond Avenues.

Traffic has now been moved to the north side of Lasalle Boulevard for both directions through Montrose Avenue and then shifting back to south side of Lasalle Boulevard prior to Northway Avenue.

Excavation will take place for a sub-drain on the south side of Lasalle Boulevard, west of Princess Auto, heading westerly on Lasalle Boulevard as of June 14th.

Falconbridge Highway

There will be intermittent lane closures from Maley Drive to the Kingsway for sidewalk and curb installations, and curb installations will intermittently close the highway between Church Street and Cedargreen Drive.

Grinding operations will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction between Cedargreen Drive and Pilotte Road.

Additional road construction

The eastbound lane of Kathleen Street at Caron Street will be closed starting at 7:00 a.m. June 14 for construction. Caron Street will be closed at the intersection of Caron and Kathleen Streets during this time. Detour signs will be present.

Regent Street is reduced to one southbound lane between Bouchard Street and Telstar Avenue on June 14 or June 15 for testing purposes in advance of a trunk water main replacement project. To minimize traffic disruptions, this lane closure is restricted to the hours between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Greater Sudbury Hydro maintenance will result in intermittent lane closures on the Kingsway, affecting small sections of the eastbound curb lane in various areas from Brady Street to the entrance of the Riocan Centre, during the week of June 14.

Lorne Street is reduced to one lane in each direction between Regent Douglas Streets from June 14 to June 18 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for borehole testing.

Durham Street is closed to traffic between Elgin and Larch Streets from 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 19 to 5 a.m. on Sunday, June 20 for the Downtown Rotary Blues for Food. Medina Lane will remain open to traffic crossing Durham Street.

Rehabilitation of the Elm Street Bridge, an underground structure spanning Elm, Paris and Lloyd Streets, has begun. Traffic on Lloyd Street is reduced to one lane in each direction for the duration of the project which includes excavation, concrete removal, installation of a new bridge deck, backfill and asphalt replacement. Construction will continue for approximately four months.

Motorists using Main Street in Blezard Valley are warned to expect grinding operations in advance of paving between Blezard Valley and Val Caron.

Installation of a new water main and sanitary sewer main are complete near Maki Avenue and Paris Street, and pavement has been resurfaced. Work will proceed onto Maki Avenue to update and repair sections of water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer.

Crack sealing operations are underway for approximately two weeks on various municipal roads.
