School board director appointed to Canadian Education Association

Sudbury Catholic District School Board director of education Catherine McCullough was appointed to the Canadian Education Association (CEA) council at its annual general meeting Oct. 28.

Sudbury Catholic District School Board director of education Catherine McCullough was appointed to the Canadian Education Association (CEA) council at its annual general meeting Oct. 28.

McCullough has been an educator for the past 29 years in three different school boards, and an elementary and secondary classroom teacher, vice-principal, principal, and consultant, and has been director of education for Sudbury Catholic District School Board for the past three years.

"Catherine's wide-ranging work in both curriculum and educational leadership will provide an very useful perspective to our council table," CEA chair Lynne Zucker said, in a press release.

CEA conducts research, generates constructive ideas, and shares them through collaboration with educators, students, and other stakeholders.

The group is committed to advancing ideas that lead to greater student and teacher engagement; teaching that inspires all students to learn; and schools that ensure both equity and excellence to meet the developmental needs of all learners.
