Sudbury MP Diane Marleau and Nickel Belt MP Ray Bonin both deserve credit for their help in securing the funding, said Science North CEO Jim Marchbank.

"This grant puts us over our target in federal funding and will enable us to enrich Phase I of the project by investing more in the Dynamic Earth building, exhibits and the surrounding landscape," said Marchbank. "We're now closer to our ultimate big attraction goal as set out in our original proposal."

Currently under construction, Dynamic Earth is Science North's new major attraction. Phase I will open in the spring of 2003 and is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors during its first year of operation.
