The Sudbury & District Health Unit is extending its clinic hours tonight to offer free hepatitis A vaccinations in relation to the recently recalled Costco Nature’s Touch Organic Berry Cherry Blend frozen berries.
Clinics are being held at the Health Unit’s office located at 1300 Paris Street, Greater Sudbury. No appointments are needed.
Extended hours:
- April 21, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. (previously 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Friday April 22, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
To date, the Health Unit has administered over 160 hepatitis A vaccinations to individuals who may have eaten this product within the last 14 days—and who was not previously fully vaccinated.
It is within 14 days of consuming the product that the vaccine will be most effective in preventing disease in anyone exposed.
Vaccine is also available through the Health Unit’s offices located in Espanola, Mindemoya and Chapleau or by contacting your health care provider. Vaccine may also be available through Costco and store locations should be contacted directly for details.
