Greater Sudbury Police are looking for a Caucasian man with a slim build after a break and enter at 10:40 a.m. on Errington Avenue in Chelmsford on Friday morning, Q92.7FM is reporting.

The man wearing all black clothing and a black toque knocked on the door of the Chelmsford home and tried to force his way in when the person answered, the report said.

In a Facebook post, a woman who says she is the homeowner describes how her young daughter managed to slam the door on the suspect's arm, and he ran off.

Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot, and a K9 search was conducted to track his whereabouts. The investigations continue with the Break and Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) unit.

The radio station reported police are urging anyone with any information to contact police at (705) 675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) online at SudburyCrimeStoppers.com or by texting TIPSUD and the information to CRIMES (274637).
